Moving Help Tips:
Kitchen Medium Moving Boxes are perfect for packing pots, pans and other less-fragile kitchen items. In order to correctly pack these items, use the wrap and roll method. Packing paper is an inexpensive way to help protect and secure items for moving day or for storage. If you are using the Medium Moving box to pack dishes, the proper technique used by professional movers when packing dishes is to crumple and place sheets of packing paper at the bottom of the box. Ensure that packing paper is firmly placed in each corner to guard against compression shock. Pack and place the heavier items on the bottom, start with your dishes, and place a foam sheet between or wrap each dish with packing paper. Take three to four dishes and stack on top of the other and wrap and roll the dish bundle with packing paper. Stack the dish bundle on its edge in a moving box. This method is used because dishes are stronger when packed on edge together than when packed individually and laid flat. Your dishes should never make contact with the box. Allow a 2” buffer between your dishes and the cardboard and fill the voids with packing paper. For added protection when packing and moving fragile place settings, we recommend that you use our Double Wall Dish Pack Boxes. The Dish Pack Box can provide the added protection your valuable dishes and glassware demand.
Office/Home Office The Medium Moving Box is the box for the job. Clearing out drawers, packing printers, computers and smaller monitors is an easy task when using Medium Moving Boxes. Pack computer equipment, scanners, printers, etc. in original cartons when available. Otherwise, use strong, corrugated cartons like our medium moving boxes and place protective padding on the bottom of the box like packing paper or Bubble Wrap® . Be sure your hard drive is "parked" and ready for transport (newer models may not require "parking"). Use protective wrap around each item and place it in a box. Place additional padding between the carton and the computer. Wrap cords separately, label them to identify usage and place in a plastic bag away from delicate surfaces. Non-detachable cords also should be wrapped. Place cords between the padded computer and the carton. Be sure to allow a 2” buffer between electronic equipment and the cardboard and fill the voids with packing paper or Bubble Wrap® .
Lamps and Lampshades Be sure to remove bulbs, harps and shades and roll up the cord. Pack smaller lamps between bedding or wrap separately with Bubble Wrap® and place upright in packing paper lined moving boxes. Make sure to wrap harps and finials (decorative knobs) with packing paper or Bubble Wrap® and tape to the inside wall of the moving box that contains the lamp shade. Wrap shades in packing paper and place upright in large, packing paper lined boxes.
Playrooms/Kids Rooms Toys, video game consoles and most anything else the little ones play with fit safely within Medium Moving Boxes. If packing game consoles, use original packing materials when available. If original packing materials are not available, refer to the owner's manuals for further information. Wrap DVD players, CD players and phonographs with Bubble Wrap® or packing paper and place them upright in the carton. To stabilize the laser on a CD player, replace the transport screws (normally located on the bottom of the unit). For phonographs, stabilize the platter to secure the changer and tone arm by tightening screws located on the top of the turntable. Label boxes "Fragile" and "This Side Up". Be sure to use plenty of packing paper or other filler moving supplies to fit between items when packing toys to avoid shifting. Shifting is the #1 cause of damage to personal items when moving.
Bedrooms Medium Moving Boxes are ideal for packing and storing articles of clothing that you do not need to hang. These moving boxes are big and strong enough to clear out most dresser drawers. When using Medium Moving Boxes to pack folded clothing, be sure to place heavier items on the bottom adding lighter articles to the top, such as socks and undergarments. You may want to sneak in an occasional nightstand picture frame between clothing for added protection. All of our medium moving boxes have lift handles to help with loading and unloading moving truck rentals or self storage units.
Fragile Items Securely pack items that you wish to have an extra layer of protection using packing supplies like bubble wrap, cushion foam or packing paper. Allow a 2” buffer between your items and the cardboard box and fill the void(s) with packing paper or packing peanuts to prevent shifting during transport and storage.
